It has been almost two years that the whistleblowers and supporters of the survivors/victims of abuse at Niños de México have waited for release of the report from the independent investigation by Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment. The report is now final. You can access it here: https://proflayedu.wixsite.com/blog/post/ninos-de-mexico-final-report-by-grace.

Be aware, it is a comprehensive, but not exhaustive, report on the interviews and documents by GRACE. The content of the report is concerning, even jarring. Just reading the table of contents made me realize the situation was far worse than I expected. The website for the ministry reports the board of directors immediately ended operations at Niños. (https://ninosdemexico.org/)

From the Grace Report:

“The purpose of this report is to present an assessment of the credibility of all relevant allegations, analyze existing safeguards/policies and responses, and give recommendations based on this assessment and analysis. The first step of this process requires GRACE to filter all evidence gathered through a framework to determine credibility of that evidence. This framework includes (1) identifying the applicable burden of proof and (2) resorting to informative legal and investigatory principles used to analyze evidence.” (Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment: Independent Investigation of Niños de México Final Report and Recommendations, November 12, 2025, p. 22.)

I dedicated sections of my book, Clergy Cover-up Does It Work?, describing my interactions with those closely involved in seeking justice for those abused at the institution. I am grateful for the diligence and perseverance of those who held pressure on the Niños Board of Directors until they agreed to the independent investigation. The GRACE report indicates that abuse of youth by ministry leaders began in the early years.

From my book:

“’Niños de Mexico is a non-profit mission organization directly supported by churches and individuals throughout the United States,”’ per the ministry’s website ninosdemexico.org. Niños de Mexico (Children of Mexico) began operation to establish orphanages and educational centers for the abandoned and orphaned children in Mexico in 1967. They initiated their US office in Union, MO, in 1978 to facilitate contacts with US churches and donors. Since then, the ministry claims to have helped 470 children in nine homes located in three different Mexican states. ‘Today, we are actively involved in sharing Jesus with the children and people of Mexico through our [nine] children’s homes, medical outreach, and church plants.’” (Taylor, Joy S, Clergy Cover-up Does it Work?, Lily of the Valley Publishing Services, 2024, Indiana, p. 64.)
