Lord, I find it curious that Martha ran to meet Jesus while Mary sat inside, perhaps motionless with grief. Martha had been the one who previously prioritized preparation over sitting at Jesus feet. Yet even now, Martha believed God would grant whatever Jesus asked. Strengthen my faith to overcome my lapses, Lord. Draw me forth as I overcome in the name and authority of Jesus, according to the Father’s good and perfect will. Amen.
“Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother will rise again.’ Martha said to him, ‘I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.’ Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
