Father God, there is no one like you who hears our prayers and answers. Though Paul would probably have preferred not to be imprisoned for declaring Christ, you answered his request to open a door for the gospel he taught. Thank you for that, Father. Thank you for answering my prayers, even if the answer is not what I expected. You are all seeing and all knowing. There is no one like you who goes out for the salvation of your beloved. I come to pray, humbly and with reverence for who you are, in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.” (Colossians 4:2-4 ESV)
