My hope is in you, Lord. My comfort lies in your covenant promise that the missing pieces of my heart, which went to heaven with my brothers and sisters in Christ, will be restored “in that great gettin’ up morning.” When I hear the trumpet I will look up, for you will be coming with all the saints who have gone on before me, and I will rejoice in the reunion that lasts forever. Should I join the saints in glory before your return, I will rejoice in the reunion with my last breath. Father, you are the God of all comfort. I exalt you in the name and authority of Jesus, who bridges the gap between heaven and earth, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 ESV)
