Father God, this verse is thought provoking. Paul wrote to Timothy from prison, knowing his earthly life was coming to an end. You rescued him from prison before, from shipwreck, and from stoning. Paul knew what it was to be pulled from the pit of evil physically. He also understood that you would rescue him spiritually at your appointed time. Thank you for the time you gave him to write so much wisdom into Scripture. Thank you for pulling him from the fires of destruction. Thank you for his salvation and eternal life with you. I pray for such assurance and peace for everyone who believes. I pray your Holy Spirit will plant the desire for such peace and assurance in all who don’t believe, yet. I ask in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” (2 Timothy 4:18 ESV)
