Lord, I find it interesting that you have put the words “remain” and “trust” before me several times in the last days. I am to remain in you, learning and leaning on your word for guidance and encouragement. Jesus, you told me that without you I can do nothing. I get that. It is the “I can do all things through (you) who strengthens me,” that I have a harder time understanding. What is it that I don’t understand about “all things?” How come I can’t figure out how “strengthens me” works when I need it most? I like to say that it is due to my “humanness,” but humans are what you created in your image. Your image is perfection, so it can’t be that. It has to go back to your words to the apostles, “O, ye of little faith.” More faith, Father, give me more faith. Let me be counted with Abraham. His faith was counted as righteousness. Let me have that bold faith. Faith bold enough to face tomorrow and the next day. Faith enough to face the news of trial and death, when it comes. Faith enough to love you, no matter what. Faith enough to stand for you, no matter what…no matter what. I pray in the name of Jesus, my Savior and according to your good and perfect will, Father, El Roi…my God who sees me. Amen.

“And Jesus said to him, ‘If you can! All things are possible for one who believes.’” (Mark 9:23 ESV)
