I don’t know what to pray this morning, Lord. I do know that the Holy Spirit hears what my brain can’t put into words and prays God’s will over my groaning spirit. I know that you sit at the right hand of the throne of God, interceding for me and for the subjects of my prayers. I have no words. The silence surrounds me. The weight of the news feed bears heavily on my heart. I rally only by the thought that you are still in control, and that I trust only in you and in your truth. On this Pentecost, send down the fire that melts hearts and changes the course of history. I ask in your name and authority, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.
“Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.” (Acts 2: 33 ESV)
