A Journey of Healing

Drops of Joy – A Devotional Journey of Healing — Update 1

Someone on social media asked me, “What was it like to put something so personal out to the world?” This is a question to ponder for a bit. I can remember the uncertain feeling I had when I posted my first poems online. I confess I wasn’t keen on revealing myself at first. I answered this thoughtful question by referring to my experiences in the recovery ministry leadership years.

I remember the healing in confidential discussion groups that took place because we were transparent in our testimonies. I saw the value to others in how God touched participants when I openly shared my experiences. The enemy loses his grip on our lives when we speak out loud about our issues in safe and confidential surroundings. That is where I saw God begin to change lives for the better. I needed to be true to God’s calling me to be a second Corinthian servant by willing and transparent communication of my testimony. Drops of Joy – A Devotional Journey of Healing is the capstone of my testimony that I pray touches hearts.

From the book:

“Dedication
This project is dedicated to those brothers and sisters in Christ who walked through recovery sessions with me, those I mentored, and those who mentored me. I dedicate it to victims and survivors of abuse in its many forms. We all look to our Great Physician who binds our wounds and fills the voids and crevices in our hearts and souls, no matter if others create them or whether they are self-inflicted. May God continue to work in each life until He completes his objective to speak love and joy to us all.” (Taylor, Joy S., Drops of Joy – A Devotional Journey of Healing, 2026, Lily of the Valley Publishing Services, Indiana, Introduction Section.)

Come and join me on this journey of God’s healing. May a piece of my past lead you to a better future through God’s intervention.

Joy S. Taylor is a follower of Christ, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her workdays were spent using the Master of Science in Accounting degree that God graciously allowed at the age of, well, greater than 40. She led a divorce recovery support group sponsored by her church for seven years, and spent more than a decade in leadership roles for Celebrate Recovery, using what God had done in her life to point others to the healing only Jesus gives. Now retired, she concentrates on writing for Jesus from her beloved hickory grove in Indiana, yet devotes some of her time to volunteering.
