Drops of Joy – A Devotional Journey of Healing — Update 21
Our family patriarch went to be with Jesus last month. His loss is a deep void for his loved ones. Earth’s loss is heaven’s gain, and we carry many fond memories of him that bring a smile. The suddenness of it all brought reality into focus for me in that I am of the same generational circle. Days seem to roll around faster and the urgency to redeem the time increases. Are you noticing that? This devotion deals with end-of-life and the faith that leads us through. Read. Pray. Heal.
From the book:
“Physical death is certain. Nobody escapes its grip until Jesus comes back for the church. I went through childhood thinking I could be superhuman. Mighty Mouse was a favorite
cartoon. My teen years changed the focus to immortality, and when I became a mother, I had to be supermom, able to leap heaps of laundry in a single bound. Now, I’m happy to sit upright every morning. Life has a way of doing that. This body I’m in ain’t what it used to be. Thanks be to God that it isn’t my forever body. One day, God will give me a perfect heavenly body, able to sing and dance in praising Him forever. Pretty cool.” (Taylor, Joy S., Drops of Joy – A Devotional Journey of Healing, 2026, Lily of the Valley Publishing Services, Indiana, p. 53)
Come and join me on this journey of God’s healing. May a piece of my past lead you to a better future through God’s intervention. This is a compilation of prose, poetry and prayer to bring you closer to the Lord. Read. Pray. Heal.

Joy S Taylor is a follower of Christ, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her workdays were spent using the Master of Science in Accounting degree that God graciously allowed at the age of, well, greater than 40. She led a divorce recovery support group sponsored by her church for seven years, and spent more than a decade in leadership roles for Celebrate Recovery and Care Net, using what God had done in her life to point others to the healing only Jesus gives. Now retired, she concentrates on writing for Jesus from her beloved hickory grove in Indiana, yet devotes some of her time to volunteering.
