Drops of Joy – A Devotional Journey of Healing — Update 6
I don’t know about you, but I have to take a break from the news feeds now and again. The current events are more complicated and threatening than what we talked about when I was in grade school. Some days the dark cloud of ‘breaking’ reports overwhelms me, and I back off to think about brighter days.
From the book:
“Upheaval and uncertainty can bring on the mindset of gloom and depression, steeped in a feeling of helplessness. Some of that is self-created and/or self-inflicted. Not that we want to create dreariness and trouble in our lives, but that we fail to see the promise of the current predicament. I am humbled by those faithful ones who can look difficulty in the eye and say, ‘Wow, I can’t wait to see what God is going to do with this one!’ Do you know someone like that? If you do, you have a gem to mine. Ask them to help you figure out how to put that into practice in your own life. If you don’t know someone like that, and I think a majority of us are in this category, it’s time to develop our faith and become someone like that.”
From ‘Brighter Days’ (the poem):
“But sometimes I lose it
Behind clouds of doubt.
When it’s hidden there
This is my prayer:
Breath of God blow away
Clouds of mist and gray.
Let the Son shine through.
Reveal a brighter day.”

Joy S. Taylor is a follower of Christ, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her workdays were spent using the Master of Science in Accounting degree that God graciously allowed at the age of, well, greater than 40. She led a divorce recovery support group sponsored by her church for seven years, and spent more than a decade in leadership roles for Celebrate Recovery, using what God had done in her life to point others to the healing only Jesus gives. Now retired, she concentrates on writing for Jesus from her beloved hickory grove in Indiana, yet devotes some of her time to volunteering.
