Almighty God, Holy Father in Heaven, open your court and hear my prayer. I pray for the lost, for the rebellious, for the confused and misdirected souls of the nations. Let your Holy Spirit circle the globe, hovering over every individual to draw them to Jesus and to encourage their faith. Unleash His power to … Read more
Jesus, my Lord, I’m reading the greatest motivational sentences of all time. The apostles went from cowering in fear behind locked doors to confronting Jewish leaders and Roman magistrates. You had used these words before in the three years of earthly ministry, so the difference is not their content, but the fact that they now … Read more
King of all kings, you are highly exalted. You are the ‘darling of heaven crucified’ and worthy of all glory, praise and honor. Constantly in control, you died on your terms; and you rose on your terms. I fold my hands in reverence to your name above all names. I lift my prayer in your … Read more
King Jesus, you are Lord of creation and Lord of my life. You died under Pilate’s inscription. You return under Almighty God’s inscription written upon your thigh, “King of kings and Lord of lords.” You are worthy to be revered and worthy of praise. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Amen. “Pilate also wrote an inscription … Read more
Lord the manipulation and lies of leadership is nothing new. Pilate declared you innocent three times, and yet they called for your death. Remove the scales off the eyes of the unseeing. Lord, in your own words, you are the Way, the Truth and the Life. The path to the throne of God goes through the veil of your precious blood. Father God, Satan still seeks to sift us like wheat. He desires to weaken our faith and silence our voices. We cannot withstand alone, Father. Thank you that your Holy Spirit prays your will over us. Thank you that Jesus is at your right hand to intercede on our behalf. I pray for awakening to … Read more
Almighty Everlasting Father, you are Jehovah Hashopet, the LORD our judge. You are holy and just. There is no other like you. You take what men mean for evil and turn it to your glory. Caiaphas thought he was removing a political thorn from his side. You used the death Caiaphas desired to glorify Jesus … Read more
Father God, I’m just musing over these two verses breathed by your Spirit through the pen of John. Why would Peter attack the servant and not the high priest? A fisherman, not a soldier, was Peter aiming for the high priest and missed, hitting the servant instead? Was Peter picking the lesser opponent? I can’t … Read more
Lord, the vivid word picture of these two verses strikes me hard. “Ego eimi.” The religious leaders who thought themselves protected by the garrison of Roman soldiers had to recognize the sacred name of God coming in your reply, “I am.” Lord, I wonder how they felt to see the well-armed troops picking themselves up … Read more
