I can’t say enough about the tenacity and bravery of the whistleblowers. They have taken many slings and arrows as opposition to their position pushed back. Even the authorities in Mexico blocked their attempts to remedy the situation for the victims at Niños. Olivia Paola Cuevas speaks of this reluctance in her Facebook post on July 28, 2025. The authorities should have acted to shut down the ministry and protect the children years before when the allegations and convictions surfaced.

DIF Estado de México and Japem Estado de México failed to secure the protection of 11 girls protected by the DIF who were reported by @buso se_xu@l in 2021. No protective measures were requested for them, leaving them in the same household where they were violated.”
