Today is a beautiful day, because God scourges his people who turned to idolatry by telling them to look to their idols to save them when they cry out, yet contrasts the hope of the persecuted righteous, “For the righteous man is taken away from calamity; he enters into peace; they rest in their beds who walk in their uprightness.” (Isaiah 57:1b-2 ESV)
