What is a life without hope, Lord? It is only existence, trudging day-to-day, from one hour to the next. Eternal hope blossomed with my belief in You. Light pushed away darkness. Procrastination gave way to purpose. You restored the years the locusts had eaten. You set my feet on the path of righteousness for your name’s sake. You provided a way where there seemed to be none. You flooded my parched heart with streams of mercy and grace. Thank you for restoring what was lost and building what might never have been for your glory and pleasure. I bring my praise in your name above all names and authority greater than any other, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge. With the mighty deeds of the Lord God I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone.” (Psalm 71: 14-16 ESV)
