Give ear to my prayer, O God. Hear my plea for mercy, for the noise of the enemy encroaches around me. The oppression of the wicked drops trouble upon me. They bear anger and a grudge against me for my standing. My heart anguishes, and I cry, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly and be at rest far away in the peace of the wilderness, a shelter from the tempest.” See the evil and destroy the deceitful message, for iniquity and trouble are within it: ruin, oppression and fraud. It is not an enemy who taunts, but those with whom I shared sweet counsel. We walked together in God’s house among the throng. I cast my burden upon you, Father. You sustain me. You will never let the righteous be moved. I trust in you in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22 ESV)
