God of mercy and wisdom, keep my feet free of debt’s snare. Help me run from it like the gazelle from the hand of the hunter. Show me the industriousness of the ant, working to store up essentials when the time is right. Keep me vigilant and hard working, saving for hard times as I go. Yet, encourage me to disciplined generosity to help where I can from the bounty you provide. I ask your guidance in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“A little sleep, a little slumber, ta little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.” (Proverbs 5:10-11 ESV)
