Abba Father, I desire to know more of you. I seek you in your Word. I look for you in your creation. I find you in wisdom and discernment. Keep those foremost in me, Father. Give me discernment to choose friends wisely, because a companion of fools will suffer harm and disaster pursues sinners. I am a blood-bought sinner. I walk in the righteous robes of Christ, but am vulnerable to the treacherous shimmer of sin’s whispered call. Let the thorns of your hedge of protection keep me from stepping out of the circle of your will to face disaster. Lead me along the sanctification road that brings me to perfection in Christ. Forgive me when I fail you, Father. Restore me in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.” (Proverbs 13:20 ESV)
