O, Lord, the purposes in my heart are deep, and I keep trying to fathom the waters of my intentions. Help me draw them out and understand them. I cannot say my heart is pure, that I have cleansed myself of sin. The truth lies with you, dear Jesus. You washed away my sin. My actions are upright and good only because of your power and your Spirit. You made ears to hear and eyes to see. Let others hear your words from my mouth and see your goodness in my daily rhythms. Forgive me when I fail you. Renew my strength to try again in the name and authority of your name above all others, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“Who can say, ‘I have made my heart pure; I am clean from my sin’?” (Proverbs 20:9 ESV)
