Almighty, Loving Father, you are Yahweh. You are the God who sent manna from heaven to sustain your people in the desert. You are the God who sent streams of water from the rocks. You are the one who sent the Christ, God incarnate in human flesh, to become the sacrifice leading to eternal life. The flesh of Jesus on the cross and his blood spilled reconciled us to you according to the blood covenant that required it. Thank you for this difficult verse about taking him in to the depth of our being as we believe in him and his work on the cross. His work was to die for our sin. Our work is to believe on him whom you sent. I believe in the name above all names, Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
