Lord Jesus, I’m meditating on your obedience to the Father. I take to heart that your message is by His authority. It is the message of eternal life. It strikes my consciousness that the method of delivering the commandment was by your submission even to death on a cross. I have no words deep enough, strong enough or loving enough to express my gratitude. I sit in reverence to your name and authority, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment—what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.” (John 12:49-50 ESV)
