God of wonders who is above all, You put the tick in my clock. You put the to-do list of my days together for your purpose and glory. You are the creator of the sabbath, allowing me the blessing of rest and recuperation for the next round of work for your kingdom. Let me take a breather today. Let me just sit back and remember your provision and goodness. Let me pause to soak in your presence and renew my body, mind and soul. Show me, again, the blessings you promised from the beginning of time. Lead my thoughts to the top of the hard climb before me where you sit with your perfect view, and give me a glimpse of the grandeur that awaits at the summit with you. As I wait for the next assignment, give me grace to rest in the warmth of your will for me. Seems like everything hits at once, sometimes. Thank you for the spaces in between where your peace dwells. Show me how to take that peace into the next fray I face. Sustain me with your loving kindness. I praise you in the name of Jesus, who went aside to pray, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27 ESV)
