Mighty Creator, you are the author of the seasons. Thank you for the change in them. Thank you for the autumn colors here, that quickly fade into colder skies and potential flurries of snow from your heavenly storehouse. It’s getting colder here, and heating up in other parts of the globe. Where it is colder, let your servants feel the warmth of your arm across their shoulders to sustain them. Let your workers in summer’s furnace feel your breath of relief across their brows to refresh them every day for the task ahead. Let all delight in you. Let all begin each day in reverence and renewal with you. I ask in the name and authority of Jesus, who walked the dusty roads on the hottest of days, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:22 ESV)
