Lord Jesus, I am pondering Paul’s letter to Timothy and remembering you, risen from the dead. The cross is empty. The tomb is empty. The gospel for which Paul suffered scorn, beatings and imprisonment continues in its power two thousand years later. Thank you for your sacrifice. Thank you for calling me. Thank you for saving and keeping my soul. Thank you for the living water. Thank you for eternal hope in your precious name and powerful authority, according to the Father’s good and perfect will. Amen.

“Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything. Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!” (2 Timothy 2:7-9 ESV)
