Lord of Hosts, you are above all, for you are trustworthy, faithful and holy. There is none like you. Violence increases as justice falls in the streets. People lose their livelihoods and homes. Mothers lose the formula to feed their babies as the government buys up the supply and keeps the factory closed. Nation rises against nation. Terrorist attacks claim more lives in many countries. Where is there refuge, Father God. Our refuge is in you. Our hope and security is in you. You wear the victor’s crown. You prevail. You are our peace and assurance in all that roils around us. We look to you in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.” (2 Peter 3: 13-14 ESV)
