Prayer for Today

Gracious Father, there is no one like you. You are the one true God, the Almighty. I lift my voice in prayer today for the pastoral and lay leaders of your people. I bring them to your mercy seat for your favor and blessing. Protect them in their daily doings, Father. Wrap your hedge of protection around them and their families. Though leading can be hard, give them joy in the task for your glory. Bring them a special blessing with every effort and outreach. Give them strength and guidance through your Holy Spirit. Like the prophets, let them not say nor do anything that isn’t within your will. Speed them along the race you place before them, surefooted and bold. Let them feel the warmth of your pleasure in them. Draw them closer to your heart and closer together with those they shepherd. Be glorified in their work. I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
