Father God, I call for your grace and mercy upon us. You are the God of multiple warnings. You are the God who prepares the way. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. Now is the time for preparation. The warning knells peal the alarm. Do we not face shortages? Do we not hear of devastating winter months? Should we not prepare as do the squirrels to face the coming trial? Open the eyes of your people. Ready the storehouses. Bolster us in your care. Make a way where there seems to be none. Turn our eyes to you, Father. We trust your loving kindness. We seek your refuge. We pray to avert world hunger. We pray for restoration and salvation. Forgive us where we fail you, because we do fail. Bind us together as one in Christ. We lift our plea in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.” (2 Kings 25: 3 ESV)
