Father God, who am I that you would use me as a temple for your Holy Spirit, except as a temple of prayer. You declare that your temple will be a house of prayer, and I want that more than anything. Prayer puts me in direct communication with you. Prayer soothes my anxieties. Prayer builds my faith. Prayer grants me hope for those I include in my petitions. Prayer allows me to operate from a position of strength. Prayer brings me peace and rest, for it lifts my burdens. Prayer shows my gratitude for how you bless me. Prayer brings me to the mercy seat of my Holy God, who hears and answers. Thank you for this honor to carry your Holy Spirit in my heart and soul. Thank you for making the way directly to your throne in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“The house that I am to build will be great, for our God is greater than all gods. But who is able to build him a house, since heaven, even highest heaven, cannot contain him? Who am I to build a house for him, except as a place to make offerings before him?” (2 Chronicles 2: 5-6 ESV)
