I wear my emotions on my sleeve this time of year, Lord. I cry at the drop of a hat with my mixed emotions taking control. The lights, songs, parties, friends and family contrast with the shadows of past difficult Christmases, and the tears come easily. Lord, the reality strikes me of what You have changed for the positive and provided in my need. Your deeds on my behalf are many. I bring my gratitude, especially for the gift of Your salvation and Your love. Perhaps it is this love that wells up in me, overcoming sadness and reminding me that You are good. I give thanks in Your name above all others and authority greater than any other, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.
