Father, I’m thinking of the lyrics to a song I sang with others at a hymn sing-along. “The Lord has promised good to me. His Word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures.” Whom do I have in heaven but You, Father? Whose promises are surely kept? Whose love is steadfast and uplifting? There is now, therefore, no condemnation for those who love You and are called according to your purposes. You are my portion and my sustenance. There is none like You who goes out for the sake of your beloved. I seek to please You in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“The Lord is my portion; I promise to keep your words. I entreat your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.” (Psalm 119: 57-58 ESV)
