Father, forgive us, for we have sinned against You. Justice is trampled in the streets. Corruption has its way in our governing bodies. The consequences of our complacency and ignorance are everywhere. Help us turn this around, for You are larger than all our shortcomings. Your arm is not short that You cannot root out this evil and return us to righteousness. I ask humbly in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“How the faithful city has become a harlot, she who was full of justice! Righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers. Your silver has become dross, your best wine mixed with water. Your princes are rebels and companions of thieves. Everyone loves a bribe and runs after gifts. They do not bring justice to the fatherless, and the widow’s cause does not come to them.” (Isaiah 1: 21-23)
