Lord, I’ve been out of the pit for many years. You turned that brokenness to victory that allows me to put what I learned from You to use in serving others. You gave me purpose and hope. You renewed the joy of your salvation. You lit the once-dark path to make a way where there seemed to be none. Thank you, Jesus. I bring my prayer in your name above all names, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40: 1-3 ESV)
