Almighty God, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, you are God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. You are the one true God. Help us to recognize our status with you, and our desperate need for a Savior. You are perfectly holy and perfectly just. We are fallen people in a fallen world, and no matter how we try, we fail to meet the standards of your holiness. We pray with our eyes closed, with our eyes open, heads bowed or uplifted, standing, sitting, kneeling or prostrate. No matter our traditions or rituals, they can’t bring us salvation, freedom or entrance into your kingdom. Let us be alert in our prayers for the message of the Holy Spirit, for the vision of Jesus, for the prompting to know Jesus as the Son of God. Open our hearts to hear you whisper our names, calling us gently home to be of your household. Prepare our souls for acceptance of the redemption account and the desire to become part of it. Seal us with the Holy Spirit, as we put our trust in you and call on the name of the Lord, the Lamb of God, the Savior. Father, forgive the times we turn away and make excuses. Remind us that the time is now. Thank you for those who have already accepted adoption into your family of believers. Help them to tell others of your great goodness and saving grace. I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (Matthew 224:44 ESV)
