Father, I’ve quoted these verses innumerable times not only to those I’ve mentored toward healing, but also for my own healing. For some reason, however, I’ve skimmed right over the truth in this passage that You are the Father of mercies. Whatever mercy I may show has its source in You. I lean not on my own limited capacity, but draw from your bottomless well of mercy. Thank You for bringing that to my attention as I go through your Word today. Be glorified in my application of this in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1: 3-4 ESV)
