Father, your Word says Jehoshaphat was a godly king. The threat of drought loomed over the armies of Judah, Israel and Edom in the battle with the king of Moab. They sought the help of the prophet Elisha, who responded to their plea because he honored King Jehoshaphat. They went to God instead of avoiding Him. As Elisha prophesied, God supplied water miraculously. Don’t let me forget the power of this passage, Father. In my troubles, may I seek You first. In my achievements, may I thank You first. In my solitude, may I turn to prayer first. For all my remaining days, may I honor You first in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“And he [Elisha] said, ‘Thus says the LORD, “I will make this dry streambed full of pools.” For thus says the LORD, “You shall not see wind or rain, but that streambed shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink, you, your livestock, and your animals.”‘” (2 Kings 3: 16-17 ESV)
