Prayer for Today

Father, the prophets foretold of Your plan for salvation. The apostles witnessed to their part in the prophecies, mentioning that Jesus taught of His suffering on the cross and the glory of His resurrection before they happened. Abba, even the angels search out the meaning of these things. The coming true of prophecy cements our faith. The content of Your Word that matches with historical findings confirms our thoughts. Our faith grows, because Your Holy Spirit testifies with our spirits of these things.

We now walk in the promise of Your glory to come. We anticipate our future forever in the restored garden, where we can walk with You in the cool of the day. We can worship with the crowds of witnesses already there. We can reunite with those who have gone before us. Oh, Father, we come in awe and reference to thank You in the name and authority of Jesus, according to Your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.” (1 Peter 1: 10-12 NKJV)
