Prayer for Today

Lord Jesus, You are the Christ. Look at John’s tribute to You. You are from forever past to forever future. You are surrounded by the cloud of witnesses who have gone on before us. You are on Your throne in the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, the Spirit of the knowledge and the fear of the Lord (from Isaiah 11:2). You are the faithful witness who speaks truth. You are the firstborn from the dead and our hope in overcoming death. You have dominion over all those in power on earth. It is You who loved us and gave Your life’s blood to atone for our sins.

You have called us as kings and priests to rule in Your kingdom to the glory of the Father. You are gracious and merciful. Forgive us where we fail you. You are worthy of all glory, honor, and dominion forever. Be glorified in our worship in Your name above all names, by Your authority that is greater than any other, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1: 4-6 NKJV)
