Prayer for Today

Father, who is a God like You, whose glory covers the heavens? You measure the earth and send the rain and snow. You divided the earth with waters. The mountains see You and tremble. You are the Almighty God, Creator, and a covenant-keeping Redeemer. You go out for the salvation of Your beloved. Forgive us, Father, for we have sinned against You.

The things we idolize are of no value. The choices we make speak of our unrighteousness. Yet You seek us to turn to You, to recognize our fallen state and accept the transformation from lost sinner to redeemed saint through belief in Christ. You create a newness, an eternal hope, and adopt us to be of Your household. Draw us close for Your name’s sake. Let Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. Lift up Your countenance upon us and grant us peace. Put Your name upon us and bless us in the name and authority of Jesus, according to Your good and perfect will. Amen.

“We acknowledge, O LORD, our wickedness And the iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against You. Do not abhor us, for Your name’s sake; Do not disgrace the throne of Your glory. Remember, do not break Your covenant with us. Are there any among the idols of the nations that can cause rain? Or can the heavens give showers? Are You not He, O LORD our God? Therefore we will wait for You, Since You have made all these.” (Jeremiah 14: 20-22 NKJV)
