Almighty God, You breathed the words of the Scriptures through their authors. You spoke to them who speak to us from Your Word. You gave the visions of the coming Messiah and the New Covenant He would bring. It gives us pause that Jeremiah wrote about the captivity of Your people, but he also wrote about the hope in Your defeat of sin and death through Christ hundreds of years before Jesus’ birth and ministry.
He looked past the sorrows and calamity of the present to the glory of salvation. We acknowledge the goodness and intricacies of Your sovereignty and bless You for Your mighty works on our behalf. We lift our thanks for Your saving mercy and grace in the name and authority of Jesus, according to Your good and perfect will. Amen.
“No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” (Jeremiah 31:34 NKJV)
