Almighty God, there is no one but You in sovereign control. You set the timing. You choose the outcome. You sent Your Holy Spirit as our comforter and educator. You increased the scope from one nation of Your people to the world at large. We continue to spread Your gospel in an unbroken chain into eternity. Help us when we stumble for words. Uplift us when we weary of the task.
We are thankful for the gift of salvation through Christ. May we show the joy of Your salvation to everyone we encounter. Let it spark an interest and plant the seed for others to come to the saving knowledge of You. Bring us all into Your kingdom as believers and overcomers in the name and authority of Jesus, according to Your good and perfect will. Amen.
“And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, ‘which,’ He said, ‘you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.’ Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, ‘Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?’ And He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.’” (Acts 1: 4-8 NKJV)

Joy S Taylor is a follower of Christ, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her workdays were spent using the Master of Science in Accounting degree that God graciously allowed at the age of, well, greater than 40. She led a divorce recovery support group sponsored by her church for seven years, and spent more than a decade in leadership roles for Celebrate Recovery and Care Net, using what God had done in her life to point others to the healing only Jesus gives. Now retired, she concentrates on writing for Jesus from her beloved hickory grove in Indiana, yet devotes some of her time to volunteering.
