Father, thank you for never changing your higher moral code. Thank you that the goal of being more like Jesus isn’t a moving target. Thank you for teaching me through your Holy Spirit that obedience kick-starts your blessings and my growing as a believer. Remind me to be obedient in reading, absorbing and applying your word, living in your statutes. Remind me to be obedient in acting when you prompt. Remind me to be obedient when I feel the tug on my heart to spend time in relationship with you. Remind me to be obedient in being still and knowing you are God. Remind me to be obedient in sharing not only the good things you work on my behalf, but also the corrections you send my way. Grow me in Christ, Holy Spirit. Affect my attitudes and lead me away from folly. Forgive my wasted time. When I rest, let me rest only in you. I pray in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ…” (Ephesians 4:14-15 ESV)
