We are fallen, Lord, fallen and tramping through this fallen world. Yet, we carry the blessing of forgiveness and hope in Jesus. Our bodies weaken, our minds digress, but our faith stands. We see ourselves, our friends and family struggle with brokenness and illness. We watch them and hurt along with them. We pray for them and know that we are heard. We grapple with seemingly incongruent emotions, pending loss, fear of the future, laughter and tears at the same time. Yet, hope trumps them all, for your glory is revealed through the resurrection that we ourselves will one day experience. Oh for the time we meet in glory. Awe for the time we will be like him for we shall see him as he is, all to the praise of the Father, Son and Spirit. Strengthen our faith for the difficult days. Refresh our spirits to endure what we disdain, yet is sure to come. Renew in us the joy of your salvation, Father. Forgive our lacking. I ask in the name and authority of Jesus, who has gone to prepare a place for us, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” (Psalm 51:12 ESV)
