Yahweh Rohi, you are the Great Shepherd. You are the God of all comfort. I pray for those who mourn. I bring them to your mercy seat for your favor and blessing. You are a strong tower, and your power and might go with us, even when we face tragedy and death. You are there. You are the God who transforms ashes into beauty. You turn our mourning into dancing, sorrow into gladness. You restore our souls. I pray your soul restoration for those who grieve. Let them but touch the hem of your robe that fills the temple. Let them feel the warmth of your comfort and nearness of your presence. Let them sit at the feet of Jesus as he intercedes for them in prayer to the Father. I ask these things in the name and authority of Jesus, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4 ESV)
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,” (Psalm 30:11 ESV)
