Gracious Lord, I lift up Christian counselors, the servants committed to helping their clients bind up broken lives. They most likely have testimonies of their own hurts that you transformed into messages of your faithfulness to them. Hold these second Corinthian servants close to your heart, Father. Give them the extra portion of love to share with the wounded. Give them the strength to walk through their own stories in order to guide the one sitting before them. Holy Spirit let them hear your soft encouragement. Provide the wisdom and knowledge, questions and comments that allow them to gently dig into the past and pull out the root of harm and destruction. Allow them to show their clients Jesus’ truth. Lord reach down your healing hand and touch the hurting, broken and shipwrecked lives and raise them to live victoriously in you. I ask in the name and authority of Jesus, who came to bind up the wounded and heal the broken, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.” (2 Corinthians 3-5 ESV)
