Yahweh Sabbaoth, you are God of heaven and earth, and you are sovereign over the hosts thereof. I woke this morning needing to pray against the evil in our country and throughout the nations. Some days I see it darkening and closing in around me, but you encouraged me through your word this morning not once, but twice. You brought me to 2 Chronicles 7 for my covenant study, and there was the frequently-used verse 14, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Just to cement your assurance and reset peace in my day, you brought Deuteronomy 31:8 into play as I prepared to write today’s prayer. “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” May we see revival, Father. May we see this verse played out in our lives. May people everywhere seek your face, humble themselves and pray! Forgive us our many sins, Father. Heal our broken lives and restore your transcendent moral code to our land. Open the heavens and loose your Holy Spirit across the nations, Father. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. I pray in the name and authority of Jesus, Lord and Savior, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.
