Father God, I am small and weak, and too timid many times. Thank you for this reminder of what you told Joshua as he lost Moses and became tasked to cross the Jordan into Canaan. How daunting is that? Yet, Joshua overcame. You are with me wherever I go. Ephesians 1 tells me your Holy Spirit dwells within this mortal tent, with the power strong enough to raise Jesus from the grave. How awesome is that? Let me not turn to the right, nor to the left, but approach this life face-on with victory in Christ. It is not I, but Christ in me who overcomes. I ask in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.

“Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1: 7b-9 ESV)
