El Roi, you are the God who sees us. That encompasses far more than what I perhaps would like, because you know intimately not only what happens in my life, but also what I think of my circumstances. You see and know what I do in the dark, and when I am alone. You see when others harm me, and you know when I do myself harm. You know my coming in and my going out. Remind me that you see, Father, when others come against me. Remind me that you fight for me. Remind me to stand fast in your loving grace, not listening to the lies of the enemy. Thank you for standing in the shadows to see your word performed. I pray in the name and authority of Jesus, who stood in the gap for me and took the wrath for sin, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, ‘You are a God of seeing,’ for she said, ‘Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.’” (Genesis 16:13 ESV)
