Oh, our Almighty God, we so need the encouragement from your Scripture as we move into uncharted waters of the future. The illness of loved ones who write their destiny from hour-to-hour, the trials before us and judgement to come, transition back into our community after a long absence and our brokenness for those who don’t yet know Jesus snap us to the reality that we are not in control. Our knees quake. Our emotions rage. Fear grips our hearts. Remove all these, Father God. Supplant them with your courage and assurance. We know the one who is in control. You are able. You are willing. Make your presence known. We bow to your power and sovereignty. We cry out to our God of Hosts. We trust in your goodness and love. I pray in the name and authority of Jesus, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 ESV)
