Dear Lord, thank you for grief. I realized in my prayers last night that it serves to honor those I love and who are now missing in my life. We only mourn because we loved. It serves most of all to remind me of the one perfect hope through your death and resurrection. With all we have going in our lives right now, Jesus, hope tops the list of our needs. Thank you for grief. Thank you for hope. Thank you for the joy of your salvation. I pray in your precious and powerful name, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.
“Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” (Psalm 51:12 ESV)
