Precious Jesus, not only meek and mild, but also preeminent and powerful, you come soon. You told us your second coming approaches. Until then, you left us with the message written by the Holy Spirit through Matthew that what we bind on earth will be bound in heaven. You repeated it twice in his writing. I stand on that promise this morning as I come against addiction and illness. Lord, bind them. Weaken the hold they have on your people’s lives. Make your release from addition chains and the ravages of disease speak to your great name. Reveal yourself, and reveal the purpose of our suffering for your kingdom. Almighty God, you work constantly for the greater good and for your glory. Remind us of the joy of your salvation. You promise to hear our prayers against addiction and illness and answer. Be glorified in the outcome. I pray in the precious name and powerful authority of Jesus, our Great Physician, according to the good and perfect will of the Father. Amen.

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16:19)
“Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Mathew 18:18 ESV)
