Father God, Abba, Yahweh Shammah, you are the God who is there. It is hard to watch someone I love go through great difficulty. The only thing I know to do is to lean into God’s promises that He holds us in His victorious right hand. He promised to never leave us. He promised us that He will provide for our needs. He promised that we will have trouble, but He also promised us that He is the God who sees us. He is El Roi. There is no one like Him. There is no power greater than His. There is no love stronger than His. When I remind myself of these facts, I find the comfort of the God of all comfort. Father, I trust you. Be glorified. I praise you even through the difficult times, for you are with me. I lift my prayer in the name and authority of Jesus, who committed himself into your hands at his darkest hour, according to your good and perfect will. Amen.
“Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!’ And having said this he breathed his last.” (Luke 24:36 ESV)
